Cystic fibrosis affects the respiratory epithelium, pancreas, intestine, testis, hepatobiliary system, exocrine glands resulting in a multisystem disease. The major cause of death in patients with cystic fibrosis is lung disease. Most cases have a mutation in the CFTR gene. Specifically, our panel of 50 mutations, which also includes the study of polyT region, is designed for the analysis of the most common mutations found in populations of European origin.
