IMMUNOGLOBULIN IgE-SPECIFIC IMMUNE CHIP SOLID PHASE - (ISAC) (ALLERGEN PROFILE WIDE RANGE A MOLECULAR LEVEL), SERUM

Temporarily Discontinued Test

Test code: 4215

Effective update from 31/01/2020

Due to shortage of the reagent by the manufacturer (ThermoFisher) and alterations in the reagents supply for ISAC - 112 Recombinant Allergens Microarray Study,  the test will be temporarily discontinued.

Our supplier has informed us of the problems in the production capacity. This limitation may alter the supply of reagents to our Central Laboratory in Barcelona, which could lead to delays in the results delivery time.

We will keep you posted on any further update from ThermoFisher.

We are at your disposal and service for any clarification.

Technical Incident: IMMUNOFIXATION/ELECTROPHORESIS GRAPHS

Dear colleagues and collaborators,

The purpose of this letter is to notify you of the technical incident that occurred in the Central Laboratory of Barcelona and has affected the graphs generator equipment of the following tests:

  226- PROTEIN ELECTROPHORESIS, CSF
4676- Protein electrophoresis, urine
  702- PROTEIN ELECTROPHORESIS, URINE
2450- IMMUNOFIXATION,  SERUM
2449- IMMUNOFIXATION, URINE

From yesterday, January 22, images cannot be attached in the cited tests and has caused delay in the delivery of results.
The final solution may involve some change in the format of these graphics, although work is being done to find a technical solution as soon as possible
If this were the case, we will previously communicate it, with its corresponding specifications.
We deeply regret the inconvenience that this situation may generate, and we ask you to transfer our most sincere apologies to your clients as well as the sense of urgency and preference given to solve this situation.

We remain at your disposal for any clarification on the matter.

 SERUM + PLASMA EDTA 3mL
2 ml of serum and 2 ml of plasma. Centrifuge and transfer to sterile tube before shipment.

      Version of Test: 18

Sample type:

1 tube 10 mL Frozen Plasma EDTA

or
1 tube 10 mL Frozen Plasma EDTA +
1 tube of Frozen Processed Platelets (see instructions below)

To perform the test it is essential the minimum time elapses from extraction to freezing due to possible RNA degradation (Freeze after separating/processing the samples is required).

REQUIRED PROCESSING PROTOCOL FOR PLATELY ANALYSIS

- Centrifuge 20 min at 120g.
- Collect the supernatant and transfer it to a lilac tube with EDTA (gently invert the tube).
- Centrifuge 5 min at 120g.
- Collect the supernatant and transfer it to a sterile 15ml tube.
- Centrifuge 20min at 360g.
- Keep the pellet obtained (corresponds to platelets).
- Freeze at -80ºC (if it cannot be at -80ºC then at -20ºC).

* For RNA analysis, acknowledging the lability of this molecule and its better preservation in platelets, we offer the possibility to perform the test with isolated platelets and plasma samples in parallel.

However, obtaining platelets involves a complex proccesing protocol and may not be possible for all extraction laboratories.

Plasma EDTA analysis is perfectly valid and reliable.
