Less than 20000 AU/mL The positivity of the test under a compatible clinical context is hightly suggestive of Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease. Nevertheless, in other situations of severe neuronal damage (destruction) as Ictus, encephalitis, repeated generalized crisis or by the presence of erythrocytes the test can be consider also as positive (false positive), so that positivity has to be valued under the patient's and result context of the CSF basic analitycs. If diagnostic doubts persist, we recommend repeating the test in 2 - 3 weeks.
