Sample collection conditions for ionized calcium
- A centrifuged primary tube should be sent immediately cooled down to 4°C.
- A single tube must be sent for this determination.
- It must be vacutainer to keep empty.
- Stable sample 4 hours without centrifuge.
- Temperature variations are not advised.
- Once centrifuged without uncapping, samples are stable for 70 h at 4ºC.
- Send in an individual bag plus a note indicating ionized calcium.
