FLUOXETINE AND DESMETHLYFLUOXETINE, SERUM

Correction Limit of quantification

Test code: 3177
Mnemonic code: FLUO

Effective update from 19/03/2024

Dear colleagues and collaborators,

Last March 8th, the modification of the reference values for 3177 - FLUO - FLUOXETINE AND NORFLUOXETINE (PROZAC), SERUM was published, effective on Monday, March 18th.

In that publication, a single limit of quantification was indicated without specifying which metabolite it corresponded to.

Today, March 19th, this information has been corrected, specifying the limits of quantification for each of the analyzed substances:

NEW

Therapeutic Range: Fluoxetine + Norfluoxetine: 120 - 500 µg/L
Toxicity: Greater than 1000 µg/L
LoQ: 15 µg/L

NOTE:Norfluoxetine is an active metabolite, its level is important when fluoxetine is very low or undetectable. When fluoxetine is in the therapeutic zone, the associated level of norfluoxetine confirm a good treatment response.
