New Test in CIC Catalog

Test Code: 3786

Sample:
Tumoral tissue
Conservation:
Room temperature
Method:
Sequencing Method
Set Up Days:
Daily
TAT (Days):
20 days
Information:
Recent studies in cancer patients with non-small cell lung (NSCLC) have demonstrated that some patients carry mutations in the gene for factor receptor (EGFR), which correlate with the response of certain drugs that inhibit the tyrosine kinase such as Erlotinib and Gefitnib. While most of these activating mutations correlate with an effective response, a minority of them as the T790M mutation correlates with resistance to these drugs. Therefore the study of EGFR mutations has now become a new tool to help make decisions about treatment in this group of patients, improving their survival.
