Conditions for the sample’s obtaining and transport for the Special Coagulation Test

The following list summarizes conditions for a proper treatment before the sample’s analysis for the next special coagulation laboratory tests:
             •       Protein C and S, activity and antigen
       Functional and antigenic coaguation factors
       Lupus anticoagulant
       Plasminogen
       Activated Protein C Resistance
       C1-esterase inhibitor
       Plasminogen Activator Inhibitor

The patient must be fasting for at least 8 hours to avoid possible interference by lipemia of the sample (rejection criteria).
Sampling should be done in citrate tube (references BD363097 or BD363079). Make up to the mark perfectly, and homogenize gently by inversion 4 to 5 times. Centrifuge immediately after extraction, at room temperature (15 to 25 ° C), for at least 15 minutes at 1500 g (or 12 minutes at 2000 g). Separate the plasma in aliquot tube (reference tube LT0032 and reference plug 014794). Immediately freeze the plasma at -20 ° C. Send it and keep it frozen until processing. Minimum plasma volume 700 μL and optimal volume of 1000 μL.

If it is possible, and to avoid incidents in the sample by thawing-freezing cycles, send an aliquot for every determination to be made.

Other rejection criteria are hemolysis and permanence at room temperature over 2 hours.

Thanks in advance for your collaboration, we remain at your disposal for any specific consultation.
